MoMENtum Men’s Group exists to reduce isolation and improve the mental, emotional and social wellbeing of men through community, conversation and action.

1. General information only

The information on this website is provided for general information, community, social connection and wellbeing purposes only.

Although we aim to provide helpful and accurate information, nothing on this website should be treated as medical advice, mental health advice, diagnosis, treatment, counselling, therapy, crisis support, legal advice, financial advice or any other form of specialist professional advice.

You should not rely on website content, newsletters, social media posts, event descriptions or MoMENtum resources as a substitute for professional support.

2. Not therapy, counselling or medical care

MoMENtum is not a therapy, counselling, clinical, medical, crisis or emergency service.

MoMENtum activities are designed to support social connection, community involvement and shared experiences. They are not a replacement for:

  • counselling;

  • psychotherapy;

  • medical treatment;

  • psychiatric care;

  • crisis intervention;

  • medication advice;

  • formal mental health assessment;

  • safeguarding or emergency support.

If you need professional mental health support, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or medication guidance, you should contact your GP, NHS 111, a qualified therapist, counsellor, psychiatrist or another appropriately qualified professional.

Marketing and health-related claims should be presented carefully and should not mislead people or discourage them from seeking essential medical treatment. The ASA’s general guidance on health therapies highlights the need for health-related advertising to be responsible and supported by appropriate evidence.

3. Crisis and emergency support

MoMENtum is not suitable for urgent or emergency support.

If you feel at immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, call 999 or go to your nearest A&E department.

If you need urgent mental health support, you can contact:

NHS 111 — call 111 and select the mental health option, where available.
Samaritans — call 116 123, available 24 hours a day.
Your GP — for non-emergency medical or mental health support.

Website messages, emails, social media messages and contact forms are not monitored continuously and should not be used for urgent or emergency situations.

4. Personal responsibility

By attending a MoMENtum event or activity, you are responsible for considering whether the event is suitable for your own health, fitness, mobility, personal circumstances and emotional wellbeing.

Some events may involve walking, travel, food, public venues, outdoor spaces, physical activity, social interaction, group discussion or alcohol being available at third-party venues.

You are responsible for:

  • your own travel arrangements;

  • your personal belongings;

  • your own spending;

  • your own alcohol consumption where relevant;

  • following venue rules;

  • following reasonable safety guidance;

  • deciding whether an event is suitable for you;

  • telling us in advance about relevant access, dietary, allergy or mobility needs.

MoMENtum will take reasonable care when organising activities, but we cannot remove all risk from public, social, outdoor, travel-based or venue-based events.

5. Group conversations and personal sharing

MoMENtum events may involve informal conversations about life, friendship, wellbeing, isolation, confidence, work, relationships and personal experiences.

Any conversation at MoMENtum events is informal peer connection. It is not therapy, counselling, clinical intervention or professional advice.

You are responsible for deciding what personal information you choose to share with other attendees.

We ask all attendees to treat others with respect and discretion, but MoMENtum cannot guarantee the confidentiality of informal conversations between members or attendees in public or group settings.

6. No guarantees

MoMENtum aims to create opportunities for connection, friendship, community, activity and belonging.

However, we cannot guarantee that attending events or joining the group will achieve any particular outcome.

We do not guarantee that you will:

  • make friends immediately;

  • feel confident straight away;

  • experience improved mental health;

  • reduce loneliness;

  • enjoy every event;

  • meet people you connect with;

  • achieve any specific wellbeing outcome.

Everyone’s experience is different.

7. Event information and changes

We aim to keep event information accurate and up to date.

However, event details may change due to weather, venue availability, attendee numbers, illness, transport issues, safety concerns or circumstances outside our control.

We may cancel, postpone, reschedule, relocate or amend events where necessary.

You should check event details before attending and ensure that we have accurate contact information for important updates.

8. Third-party venues and providers

Some MoMENtum events may take place at third-party venues or involve third-party providers, such as restaurants, cafés, pubs, activity centres, instructors, facilitators, transport providers or outdoor locations.

MoMENtum is not responsible for the actions, omissions, facilities, services, food, drink, safety standards, accessibility, pricing, policies or conduct of third-party venues or providers.

You may be required to follow third-party rules, terms, safety instructions and venue policies.

9. Website content and accuracy

We aim to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and updated where reasonably possible.

However, we do not guarantee that all website content will always be complete, current, accurate or free from errors.

MoMENtum may update, change or remove website content at any time without notice.

10. External links

This website may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, booking systems, payment providers, articles, venues or external resources.

These links are provided for general information and convenience only.

MoMENtum is not responsible for the content, accuracy, reliability, availability, security, privacy practices or terms of external websites.

The inclusion of a link does not necessarily mean that MoMENtum endorses the external website, organisation, service or information.

11. Photos, videos and social media

MoMENtum may take photos or videos at events for use in community updates, marketing, website content, social media or promotional materials.

Where images clearly identify you, we will aim to obtain your consent before using them for promotional purposes.

You can tell us if you do not want to be photographed or filmed at an event.

If you post about MoMENtum on your own social media or interact with public MoMENtum pages, your activity may be visible to other users of those platforms.

12. Safeguarding and limits of confidentiality

MoMENtum is not a confidential therapy or counselling service.

However, if we become aware of a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or if there is a safeguarding concern involving a child or vulnerable adult, we may need to share relevant information with appropriate services.

This may include emergency services, safeguarding agencies, healthcare professionals, venue staff or other appropriate authorities.

Where possible and appropriate, we will try to discuss this with you first, but this may not always be possible in urgent or serious situations.

13. Limitation of responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoMENtum is not responsible for loss, damage, injury, distress or inconvenience arising from:

  • reliance on general website information;

  • decisions made without seeking appropriate professional advice;

  • use of external websites linked from this site;

  • third-party venues, providers, services or platforms;

  • event changes, cancellations or rescheduling;

  • personal belongings lost, stolen or damaged at events;

  • travel disruption or personal travel costs;

  • informal conversations with other attendees;

  • technical issues, website downtime, viruses or security issues outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

14. Related policies

This disclaimer should be read alongside our:

  • Privacy Policy;

  • Cookie Policy;

  • Terms and Conditions;

  • any event-specific information, booking terms or membership terms.

For any website tools using cookies or similar technologies, visitors should be given clear information and appropriate control, particularly where non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are used.
